Making a Musbi/Onigiri (Rice Ball)

Ingredients:

  1. Musubi mold

  2. Rice (2 cups yields about 12 musubi)​

  3. Spam (favorite sauce optional)

  4. Nori - cut into strips

  5. Favorite fixings: Egg, Furikake (optional)

Directions

  1. Cook rice.

  2. Fry up your spam.  Sauce it up with your favorite teriyaki or equal parts shoyu/soy sauce and sugar (brown or white).   Add a dab of honey, ginger and garlic to taste.

  3. Generously fill musubi mold with rice

  4. Press the rice firm into the mold

  5. Remove from pressed rice from the mold

  6. Layer spam and favorite fixing to the musubi

  7. Use a strip of nori to wrap your musubi and hold your favorite fixings in place

  8. Add additional fixings of your choice

  9. Enjoy!
